Earthquake Relief and Shelter Building After the April 25th earthquake, a program was established to distribute supplies and build temporary shelters for communities in Ghusel, Lalitpur District. CASD has distributed thousands of kilos in emergency food supply, mosquito nets, and camping equipment. The team is building sturdy bamboo and tin homes (withstood the second earthquake) which the villagers will likely call home for 1-5 years until they can afford to rebuild a more permanent structure. 81 shelters are complete, each housing up to 8 people. With ongoing government approval, CASD aims to construct 260 additional structures in the district (housing 2,000 people). The cost of each structure is as low as $150 USD
